Whiskey Glass Thistle (Cut) by Edinburgh Crystal Signed

Whiskey Glass Thistle (Cut) by Edinburgh Crystal Signed. The Edinburgh Crystal Thistle Whisky Glass Tumbler is one of the most recognizable and coveted pieces of Scottish glassware. First introduced in 1896 this iconic design remains a quintessential collector's item, even though the original Edinburgh Crystal factory closed down in 2006. The tumbler uniquely mirrors the profile of a thistle bloom. It features a flared, wide rim, a slightly nipped-in "waist" for a secure grip, and a bulbous, heavy bottom half. The lower section features a deeply cut diamond or hobnail pattern that captures the light beautifully. The top section of the glass is stippled or plain-cut, adorned with finely detailed, acid-etched thistle motifs representing Scotland's national emblem and also features a faceted star-cut base.

Crafted In Scotland / England. Signed with an older mark.

The iconic Thistle (Cut) pattern by Edinburgh Crystal was manufactured between 1896 and 2006, when the factory closed its doors. 3" H x 2.5" W. In virtually unused condition and hard to age.
