While no visible maker's mark has been located, the scale, quality of the blank, elaborate cutting, Harvard-style geometric decoration, long step-cut neck, and overall execution are consistent with high-grade American Brilliant Period production associated with Libbey and comparable premier cutting houses of the era. The body is covered in exceptionally dense Brilliant Period cutting, including alternating finely crosshatched geometric panels, star-cut motifs, intersecting miters, cane-style elements, and deeply polished facets designed to maximize light reflection and brilliance. The long neck is particularly striking, composed of numerous horizontal step cuts that taper inward before flaring into the heavily cut shoulder and body.
Large bowling pin decanters are among the more distinctive and collectible forms within American Brilliant Period glass, and this approximately 15-inch example has tremendous visual presence. The complete presentation with its large cut stopper adds significantly to its desirability and display appeal. Antique condition with age-related wear. Several chips and flakes are present along portions of the step-cut neck (last photo), as clearly shown in the close-up photographs. Additional small edge nicks, flea bites, surface scratches and normal signs of age/use may be present throughout the extensive cutting.
The stopper is present and displays beautifully with the decanter. Please review all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description. Despite the noted neck chips, this remains an impressive and highly decorative example with strong brilliance, substantial weight, elaborate cutting and the rare, highly recognizable bowling-pin profile. An excellent addition to a collection of Libbey attributed cut glass, American Brilliant Cut Glass, ABP crystal, Harvard pattern cut glass, antique decanters, Victorian glass, Edwardian glass, antique barware, early American decorative glass or turn-of-the-century decorative arts. Material: Cut crystal / cut glass.
Maker's Mark: No visible mark located. The decanter and stopper will be individually and securely packed with substantial protective cushioning.
