This is an Antique Cylinder shaped Vase. This is 14-1/4" tall by 4" wide top rim.
This is thick and VERY heavy, because it was cut on an early made quality blank in the 1890's and it sparkles fabulously. This is a Rare & quality, early piece of Brilliant History. It is from the American brilliant period, (late 1800's to 1915). This was cut by the Thatcher Bros cut co. One brother came here first and Worked with Boston & Sandwich & Mt Washington in the 1880's before he sent for his brother and created the Thatcher Bros cut glass co. You will note this design on the vase is very similar to Mt Washington "Wheeler" pattern.
You can find the shorter version of this vase on p. 68 of Revi's encyclopedia where he talks about different companies by state. There is a good paragraph on the company in the book but very few patterns are known.
So you want a rare "Book Piece" and a piece of history from the Thatcher Bros, this is the vase for you. Condition: This is pre-owned and 100 years old.
The top rim is in great condition. I found no chips or nips. The body I did find 1 little flake nip in a fan miter that I will point out in pics, hides well enough and the rest looks amazing.
Shiny & clear blank with no clouding inside. This is for 2 reasons- We sell antiques / vintage goods, therefore they are used, I provide photos of the exact items and not stock pictures so you can always see the exact item you will get.
