Large 10 Compote Bowl American Brilliant Cut Glass Crystal bubble hollow stem

This is a lovely cut glass Compote. This one is pretty high quality for compotes, displays wonderfully. Large size and impressive looking. Measures: 9-3/4" tall by 7" wide at top. Its large size for a compote.

This is from the American Brilliant period (1870 to 1920's). This is a fantastic comport with a lovely bold design of Hobstars other geometric accents. The base is also finished with a large well cut hobstar instead of the typical radial star. The stem is blown hollow for the entire length and the faceted and notched. Due to the shape and hollow stem we know this "blank" was blown by Libbey in the shape #666 which is seen in the blanks catalog on pg.

It is a high quality and elegant piece that demands attention from the size of it. Condition: It is over 100 years old- No chips or fleabites around the top rim so it displays great, there are a few tiny contact dings hidden in the pattern miters which is common. Underside of base may have a few age scratches from surface contact but looks good.
