BOWL American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Crystal signed Libbey Braid rope floral

This is a Gorgeous Antique Cut glass Bowl- great for use or display. Measures: 8" wide by 4" tall. It is from the American brilliant period, (late 1800's to 1915) which is still over 100 years old now!

This is a thick Heavy glass blank produced by Libbey. Documentation/ Authentication: This is an unknown design/pattern name design by Libbey and it is signed in the center. While collectors do not know the name for it, all of the examples that exist are signed and we know it is Libbey from that.

The design is striking and unique, yet has elements of Libbey that we love. The use of polished flashing to compose the flowers and the upside down leaves is very Libbey typical. The Braided Rope & Diamond point border though is very unique for any design though and collectors love this pattern for it. Condition: It is over 100 years old and rare. The scalloped rim may have a little of the fine microscopic nipping that you find on rim teeth that are invisible & common from age now. I found one tiny flat flake on the inside of the rim that no one will ever see. I go around the entire rim so see the pictures above for close-ups.
