Antique Baccarat -Voneche cut crystal Empire glass goblet 1810-1830
Magnificent antique cut crystal glass goblet from the Empire style period. In 1806, the Vonêche crystal and glass factory received a silver medal for the high quality of the crystal and glass. The factory employs over six hundred and fifty workers in 1810 and becomes the largest continental crystal and glass factory in Europe and of the first French Empire.
In 1816, d' Artigues buys a crystal and glass factory in Baccarat (French Lorraine), where he hires two hundred and fifty workers from Vonêche to produce the famous Baccarat crystal. Absolutely beautiful chalice with skilfully done diamond cut crystal allover in the shape of flower petals, facetted bottom of the chalice, short stem with ring. Round base placed on a square with star cut underneath.
Beautiful heavy piece with wonderful clear sound. Diam top 7,5 cm.
