American Brilliant Triple Hobstar Jewel Cut Rare Trefoil Shape Low Bowl Hawkes

This is one of the most beautifully executed pieces of cut crystal that I have ever seen. It is exceptionally well hand cut.

Although I have not found this exact bowl and pattern, the pattern may be Hawkes Chrysanthemum (the pattern in the top of the vase that won him the grand prize in the Paris Exhibition 1889) The cutting is so finely done that it feels sharp on the exterior side. It is a trefoil shape with 3 brilliantly triple jewel cut hobstars The central hobstar of each is raised as a diamond like jewel. Each triple hobstar shape is separated by a curved and raised fan. The center is diamond shaped with a series of miniature triple hobstars with the very center one raised in a diamond cut. The whole top edge sawtooth.

The crystal color is pure and brilliant. Condition: The condition is absolutely mint except under 10 times magnification I found a tiny rough spot on the side of one of the sawtooth edge. Size: It is 10" at widest and 9" at narrowest width on the trefoil shape.
