Antique Russian Louis XVI Empire Gilt Bronze Ormolu Cut Crystal Centerpiece Bowl. Today we are delighted to offer for sale a beautiful antique Russian crystal and ormolu centerpiece bowl! This exquisite piece dates to the late 19th century and is finely crafted and detailed. The luxurious bowl was no doubt the possession of a noble or wealthy aristocrat and most likely displayed with other objets d'art in an elegant drawing room.

The bowl features an Empire-style tripod base with neoclassical detailing. The base is adorned with three sea monsters/dolphins with curved tails that support the round cut-crystal bowl with neoclassical ormolu trim. The crystal bowl is of the highest quality and features palm fan designs interspersed with diamond grid panels.

The base features the original fitted wood insert which still retains part of the original green felt covering. Bowl presents well and is in good antique condition, with minor wear, tarnish and patina commensurate with age. The screws that hold bowl to dolphins tails are missing; the inner wooden bottom insert has a crack. Please review all photos before purchasing. Add old world Imperial splendor to any tablescape with this beautiful centerpiece bowl.. Dimensions: 5-1/8" in height, 6-3/8" in diameter.
